Turkey rallies Muslim support against Israel

Turkey has used its position has host of a two day Eurasian Middle East summit to gather diplomatic support over its deteriorating relations with Israel.
After talks with the Palestinian president Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on leaders to back his call for an end to the blockade on Gaza and to insist Israel faces punishment for its deadly raid on a Turkish-backed aid ship.
Meanwhile the Israeli government has survived a no-confidence motion in the Knesset.
While Defence Minister Ehud Barak justified the military operation and the diplomatic fall out, the Opposition Kadima party went on the attack.
It accused the coalition of destroying Israel’s reputation incurring avoidable international isolation.
A multi million euro deal for Turkey to buy Israeli ariel drones has become the first of several economic casualties between the two countries. Only six of the ten have been delivered – the rest are now on hold.
