The Pakistani-born US citizen accused of attempting to blow up Times Square in New York has admitted all 10 charges against him – and threatened more attacks on the US.
Faisal Shahzad, 30, is accused of parking a car carrying a crude explosive device in the crowded theatre district.
And he told a packed court that Islamist extremists would continue to attack the US.
Handcuffed and wearing a white prayer cap, Shahzad said: “I’m going to plead guilty 100 times over.
“Until the United States stops drone aircraft attacks and the occupation of Muslim lands we will be attacking the United States and I plead guilty to that.”
The 10 charges include attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted terrorism transcending national borders.
Shahzad – who has a wife and two children living in Pakistan – now faces life in prison. Read more.
